Please read these terms and conditions carefully before sending us your device(s). You should understand that by submitting an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

We recommend you take note of your IMEI number in case there is a problem with your order. Your IMEI number can be found at the back of your phone under the battery or by typing in *#06#

Your device

Each device sold by you should match the make and model stated when registering your order and meet the following conditions:

  1. The device must turn on and off.
  2. The device must be fully functional and complete.
  3. The screen must be working and intact.
  4. The battery must be included.
  5. The device must not be crushed or liquid-damaged.
  6. The device must be original and meet the manufacturer’s original specifications.

Grading Phones

We recommend that you use our detailed valuation tool to obtain a price before you send in your items.

No phone is ever the same so grading does vary from model to model, depending on the damage and condition. To give you an idea of how any damage can affect our valuation please have a look at our table.

Please be aware these are just an outline and damage is judged on a phone by phone basis. These reductions may vary depending on how your item can be reused, resold or recycled

Grading for iPads and tablet pc's

Grading for tablets such as iPad and Samsung is more complex and requires the tablet to be fully working functionally and fully intact cosmetically. We advise you answer our grading questions to obtain a more detailed valuation for your tablet before sending in.

Fully working price - your tablet is in pristine fully working condition. We will test all functions. Some slight markings on the casing will be ok.

Non working - this includes dents and other visible damage, scratching to the screen, functional damage, software faults for example a faulty home button.

In some cases depending on the value and condition of your tablet we will be unable to offer any payment.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern this Offer. Entry and claim instructions form part of the “Terms” which you will be deemed to have accepted if you participate. Please read the following Terms carefully and keep a copy for your information.

Free Gift

  1. Eligible customers who make a Qualifying Purchase (a “Participant”) will receive one O2 Recycle Voucher, to the value of £100 (“Free Gift” or “Voucher”), subject to acceptance of additional O2 Recycle terms and eligibility criteria, as applicable to the Free Gift.
  2. One Voucher per Qualifying Purchase only. Vouchers expire on 25th August.
  3. Vouchers are subject to availability at the point of redemption, whilst stocks last. O2 provides no guarantee that Vouchers will remain available throughout the Offer Period. O2 reserves the right to amend this Offer at any time which may include the substitution of the Voucher for a suitable alternative.
  4. Where gift selection is available, once a Participant has selected the Free Gift this selection cannot be altered.

Eligibility & Participation

  1. This Offer is open to UK residents, aged over 18 who are taking an iPad on a 24 month Refresh tariff during the promotional period (“Eligible Customers”), excluding employees (and their immediate families) of O2 and any other company or person professional connected with the Offer.
  2. To participate Eligible Customers must make a Qualifying Purchase. A “Qualifying Purchase” is the purchase of an Apple iPad (an “Eligible Device”) directly from O2 stores (including franchise stores), online at o2.co.uk or through our O2 Telesales between 1st April 2017 and 1st June 2017 (“Offer Period”). An Eligible Device must be purchased on an O2 Refresh 24-month credit agreement and any available Airtime Plan.
  3. Eligible Devices that are purchased and returned within the Change-Your-Mind period, do not qualify for this Offer. Purchases made through a third party distributor are excluded and will not qualify for this Offer.

How to claim

  1. Participants will receive a promotional leaflet with their Eligible Device which explains how to redeem their Voucher. To redeem the Voucher, Participants must follow instructions provided on the Promotional Leaflet.
  2. To redeem the Voucher, Participants must follow the O2 Recycle process and submit a tablet for recycling that meets the O2 Recycle eligibility criteria and recycling terms. Blocked, stolen or fake items, or items that don’t power on or off or accept a charge are not eligible for recycling and will not qualify for the £100 Voucher.

    Participants must go to o2recycle.co.uk (the “Redemption Site”) and complete the digital claim form (“Claim Form”) by entering the unique promotional code in the “Voucher Code” box in the checkout.

    Fully completed Claim Forms and tablet for recycling must be received by 15th August ("Closing Date)".

  3. O2 reserves the right to verify all claims and payments arising from fully redeemed Vouchers will be paid following receipt and assessment of tablet submitted for recycling.

Other important terms

  1. Where a Participant wishes to cancel their Qualifying Purchase, (including O2 Refresh Device Plan and associated Airtime Plan if applicable) within the 14 day Change-Your-Mind period then they are no longer eligible to participate in this Offer. Participants must return the Voucher, with the code panel unscratched and undamaged, when they return their Eligible Device. Participants who have already received their Free Gift must return the Gift with the Eligible Device.
  2. No applications from organized groups, third parties, agents, macros or other automated means, will be allowed. Incomplete applications or applications that are not in accordance with these Terms or the application instructions will be rejected.
  3. If your Free Gift is being delivered, we will aim to send your Free Gift within the time period Stipulated on the dispatch note provided to you at time of application.
  4. Entitlement to the Free Gift is personal to the Participant and cannot be transferred, unless otherwise permitted by the Promoter Redemption Partner of the Free Gift. The voucher for the Free Gift has no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  5. Responsibility is not accepted for applications damaged, lost or delayed as a result of any computer hardware, network or software failure of any kind. Damage to or loss of voucher may result in the Eligible Customer being unable to claim the Free Gift.
  6. Applicants should retain a copy of their receipt as proof of purchase.
  7. O2 reserves the right to remove promotional material from circulation, amend these terms or withdraw the Offer at any point during the Offer Period. In the case of amendment or withdrawal a notice will be posted at the top of these Terms. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Free Gift for an alternative of equal or greater value. In the event of any dispute the decision of the Promoter is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  8. O2 will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Offer or accepting or using the Free Gift, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
  9. O2’s decision is final with regard to all promotional matters.
  10. By participating in the Offer, all Participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms. These Terms prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry and Claim instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms.
  11. Data Protection: By participating in the Offer, Participants consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller and the use of their personal data for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and any other purposes to which the Participant has consented. Your personal details will at all times be kept in accordance with our Privacy policy, which can be found here.
  12. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

Grading digital cameras, sat navs, games consoles and iPods

  1. The device must turn on and off.
  2. The device must be fully functional and complete.
  3. The screen must be working and intact.
  4. The battery, charger, any mountings, manuals (and memory card for Sat Navs) must be included and fully charged.
  5. The device must not be crushed or liquid-damaged.
  6. The device must be original and meet the manufacturer’s original specifications.

Grading for gadgets is more specific and items should be in good condition to receive a payment.  In some instances depending on item type we won’t offer a reduction we will simply be unable to make a payment for it. We recommend you obtain a detailed valuation for your product by answering the questions on the product page. This will give you a more accurate quote for your item.

Other damage – for ad hoc damage and anything which affects our ability to refurbish or recycle your order there will be a reduction in price to reflect this damage.  In these cases O2 Recycle will have the final decision on all device values.

By submitting an order through our site you warrant that the device(s) comply with these terms.

If you have a PIN or Password on any of your items you should remove this before sending.

Any stolen, blocked, counterfeit or fake devices returned will be held by O2 Recycle and reported to the police. No payment will be made and the device(s) will not be returned.

Any devices that are sent to O2 Recycle and do not have a cash back value will be recycled in the greenest possible way.

Get the price quoted or have it returned for free

We allow customers the option to answer some questions to determine how any damage could affect the price offered. If you answered these questions and returned your order within 14 days but get offered a lower valuation then we will return your order for free.

If you receive a reduction we will give you 48 hours to arrange to have this returned for free. If after 48 hours we haven’t heard from you we will process your order for payment.

For iPhone 6s orders placed via O2.co.uk ,and O2 telesales, you must return your device for recycling within 7 days after receiving the iPhone 6s in order to qualify for a quoted price promise.

Pricing

Prices offered on our website are subject to change at any time without notice.

Unless we tell you otherwise, when your order has been placed, the prices quoted are guaranteed for 14 days. If your phones are received after 14 days from the order placed date the updated, current prices will apply. For iPhone 6s orders placed via O2.co.uk, and O2 telesales, you must return your device for recycling within 7 days after receiving the iPhone 6s in order to qualify for a quoted price promise.

If the device(s) received differs to the device(s) registered on-line, the order will be processed based on the device(s) received, not the device(s) registered.

O2 Recycle will have the final decision on all device values.

Payments

When we receive your order, we will check that it is complete, and that it meets our terms and conditions. Providing it does, we will send by your chosen method within 5 working days.

If you have selected same day (faster) payment, we will pay by faster payment transfer directly into your account on the same day we process your device, subject to your device(s) being processed before 1pm on a working day and there being no amendment to your original valuation (in which case we will contact you outlining your further options).

If your payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday payment will be made on the next working day. If your bank account does not accept faster payments, a BACs payment will be automatically made.

If you have selected a Bill Credit (only applicable to O2 customers) this will be credited to the next monthly bill. Please note, if your bill is printed within 3 days of your payment confirmation, the credit will appear in the following months bill. Bill credit will be applied as Airtime Credit for O2 Refresh customers.

If you have been paid by Upfront Bill Credit (only applicable to orders placed by telephone) you must return your order within 21 days of order placed date. After this date the value of credit will be deducted from your O2 account. Any difference between the value quoted and actual value upon arrival will be credited or debited.

Please Note: Payment can only be made to the name, address and details provided upon registration and incorrect details may result in delay or non-payment. If your device is re-graded, payment will be made on confirmation that you have accepted the new price we have offered (see terms and conditions for re-grading).

If you have damaged your cheque, you can have it reissued, free of charge, by posting us a written request and including the damaged cheque to the following address:

If the damaged cheque is not received by us, a cancellation fee will apply and will be deducted from the re-issued cheque value.

If you have lost your cheque, you can request for it to be cancelled and reissued. A cancellation fee will apply and will be deducted from the re-issued cheque value.

Postage

We recommend sending all items via the Post Office and high value items by registered post (Special Delivery) this gives you the peace of mind and ability to track your items.

You can also use the O2 Recycle Pack or label provided. We do not accept responsibility for non-delivery of devices or damage in transit. To avoid any damage during transit we also recommend devices are packaged adequately using protective wrapping.

We also offer a courier collection service which will cover all lost items up to a value of £200. Unfortunately we are unable to cover any damage incurred when using the courier service. To avoid any damage during transit we also recommend devices are packaged adequately using protective wrapping.

Consumers

O2 Recycle is operated by Redeem UK Ltd, by placing an order with O2 Recycle you are entering into a contract with Redeem UK Ltd. By placing an order through our site, you warrant that:

  1. You are resident in Great Britain or Northern Ireland;
  2. You are accessing our site from that country;
  3. You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
  4. By submitting an order with o2 recycle you agree to creating an account with o2 recycle unless you’ve told us otherwise by selecting the appropriate option on the order form.
  5. You are at least 18 years old; or
  6. If you are under 18 years of age, that you have obtained your parent’s or guardian’s consent to sell your device to us for the sum indicated via our website.

You and your parents or guardians release us of any liabilities or claims that may arise if you send the phone to us in breach of this warranty. If you deal as a consumer any provision of this contract which is of no effect to a consumer shall not apply. Your statutory rights are not affected by this contract. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, "consumer" means an individual who neither makes this contract in the course of a business, nor holds himself out as doing so, as defined by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.

Please note:

  1. You are responsible for cancelling any airtime contract linked to each handset. We are not responsible for any call costs arising before, or after, receipt of your handset, or arising from any other circumstances whatsoever.
  2. Please remove SIM cards before sending us your mobile. Any SIM cards received by us will be destroyed, and so obviously cannot be returned. (We will dispose of them appropriately.) We accept no liability in the event that any phone that has been sent with its SIM card is lost and charges are then incurred. You shall continue to be responsible for such charges.
  3. Please ensure all personal data is removed from devices before sending them to O2 Recycle. This includes but is not limited to all personal details, SMS, photos, videos, games, songs or other data. O2 Recycle will not accept responsibility for the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data. By sending your device to us you agree to release us from all and any losses, claims or damages with respect to the data enclosed or stored therein or on any media used in conjunction with the device.
  4. To delete data from your iPhone please follow the instructions below:
    1. From standby select Menu > Settings >General > Reset
    2. Select Erase All Content and Settings
    3. Press Erase iPhone
    4. Press Erase iPhone
    Handset will switch off and restart. This may take several minutes. Please do not switch handset off during reset.

How The Contract Is Formed Between You And Us

O2 Recycle is operated by Redeem UK Ltd, by placing an order with O2 Recycle you are entering into a contract with Redeem UK Ltd. Our site is only intended for use by people registered with us and resident in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. At our complete discretion we may accept or reject orders from people outside of these territories. We also reserve the right to reject large volume repeat orders within any 12-month period. Your contract with us will be formed when we receive your order. It will incorporate these terms and conditions. You must own all rights, title and interests in any device(s) that you send to us. Ownership of the device(s) will only pass to us when we receive the devices, in accordance with these terms and conditions, and we have dispatched payment to you, when, hence, a contract will be formed. The contract between you and us is binding on you and us and on our respective successors and assigns. You may not transfer, assign, charge or otherwise dispose of a contract, or any of your rights or obligations arising under it, without our prior written consent We may transfer, assign, charge, sub-contract or otherwise dispose of a contract, or any of our rights or obligations arising under it, at any time during the term of the contract. You may cancel the contract with us at any time up to the time when you send us the device ("cooling-off period"), providing:

  1. the contract was negotiated and concluded exclusively by means of distance communication (including, but not limited to, telephone, letter, fax or email); and
  2. you are a natural person acting outside the purposes of any business.

When cancelling during the cooling-off period, you need not give us any reason for cancelling the contract, nor will you have to pay any administration charges. To cancel the contract you must notify us in writing. This contract cannot be cancelled once our payment has been issued to you.

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control or due to our compliance with any applicable laws or regulations.
